Moving on After a Relationship Break-up by Joi Sigers

One of the most difficult things a person can endure is the loss of a relationship. While the death of a loved one eclipses this loss, a break-up is also, in its own rights, a permanent loss. The relationship, which was once alive and filled with hope has now ceased to exist, leaving at least one of the people involved filled with emptiness and sadness. The following words are intended to provide insight, comfort, and (in our fondest hopes) encouragement. They are directed to the individual who knows that reconciliation is not an option.

When I hear from someone who is going through a romantic breakup, my heart truly breaks for them. Someone they loved is no longer theirs to love and the sadness in their words tells of, not only hearbreak, but a loss of self as well. It seems that one cannot go through a romantic loss without feeling that it's their fault, or that something is wrong with them. Before going any further, let's put an end to that myth immediately. People of all weights, heights, classes, looks and sizes have people who love them. There is no one "mold" that love-worthy people are cut from. Anyone who would insist on someone fitting into a certain mold isn't worth your time, let alone your heart. (More times than not, they aren't exactly cut from Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie's cloth, either!)

In general, breakups happen because the two simply can't find happiness together. Either one or the other realizes that they aren't a perfect match and they decide that it's time to move on. Often they move on, emotionally, long before they move on physically. Aloofness, coldness, a tendency to start arguments are all signs of someone beginning to pull away.

Even though it can be the hardest thing in the world to do, you have to let them go. If you plus him or her do not add up to both of you being happy, the equation isn't meant to be. For your own sake, as well as theirs, let go and move on - allowing them to do the same. The man or woman of your dreams may be just around the corner waiting for you. If you don't move on, you'll never find them!

How do you deal with the sadness in the meantime? First of all, stop kicking yourself. You are worthy of being loved! This particular relationship failed, you didn't. Learn from this lesson and move past it. Don't keep thinking about this person, by doing so you're just giving them more and more power to hurt you.

There's a great saying, "If you want a certain trait, act as though you all ready have it." I can't overstate how much truth lies in these words. Act as though you've moved on, and before you know it - you will have moved on. When you see this person in public, don't look at them waiting for them to see you or speak - just go about your business, smile and live your life. Life's too short and precious not to be lived with a smile on your face.

Whatever you do, don't let thoughts of making this person jealous, or thoughts of bitterness enter into your mind. You're much better than that! Just keep saying, "I'm moving on." Pretty soon, you will have done just that.

In the meantime, keep busy. Volunteer to work more hours, if that's an option. Choose an author who you've never read before and start reading each and every one of their books. John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Nicholas Sparks - they each have plenty of great books to choose from. Koontz, alone, has a gazillion you could tackle. He's my personal favorite author, so I may be biased, but I'd grab "Watchers", "Midnight" or "Odd Thomas" and then move on from there. When reading Koontz, you can't feel anything but goosebumps. If you're a little timid, stick with Sparks (my next favorite) - he's incredibly gifted but without the demons, monsters, aliens, etc.

If you have someone to talk to, do so. But try to move past conversations centering around the loss as soon as possible. Concentrate on what you have rather than what you've lost.

Above all, remember, love will come around again. But if you're looking BACk you'll miss it! Look forward, wear your best smile, and concentrate on getting the most from life. This sort of mentality and lifestyle will attract the sort of person you need in your life. The sort of person who'll make you smile so much your face hurts. He or she is out there waiting for you, maybe even going through what you're going through right now. The sooner you move on, the sooner you'll find real, lasting love. You deserve it!

Research of Methods [assign.9]

In your own understanding, what's the difference between "METHOD" and "METHODOLOGY"?

Methodology is the analysis of the principles of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a discipline, the analysis of such method & task for doing it best and it is the studies of the such task while method is a no of option that we have to do any task.

Methodology is something which is organised, documented set of procedures and guidelines for one or more phases of the software life cycle, such as analysis or design.

Example:

if environment survey is done so we have many option to do we used such method, which give the accuracy it is called methodology.

Research of Methods [assign.6]

Identify and discuss key factors for publishing research in top-tier journals like CSP, ACM, i3E, etc.

General Publication Strategies

What do you think is the role of research topic in deciding your future career?

Everybody will say we are responsible for own future. We are the one who will decide what path to take and maybe in the end face the consequences in every decision we made. No one will be blame when that time comes but our own self.

Writing an essay and term papers are far different from writing a research paper, its not just an ordinary and opinionated idea but you need to have resources and valid documentations that will support your topic and research.

As I am taking my degree course (BSCS), I was able to encounter different aspect of hardships, right now I am taking up my Research methods, SAD2 and SE2 and its very hard much harder than SAD1 and SE1, for we have to squeeze all the ideas we have in order to fulfill what we have started last semester.

Research itself means HOPE, a hope for new inventions or improvements, which will help mankind in the near future. Research takes a lot of dedication to be implemented; it demands a lot of you as the developer or researcher. Just like in real life, you must be very determined to achieve whatever goals you have set in your life. Research means GATHERING of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge, this definition can be compared to building up our own future, building your future is not just setting it up because that’s what you wanted it to be, there are many factors to be considered and you need a lot of gathering; gathering your emotions, determination and be optimistic for you to be prepare for whatever consequences you may encounter, you need valid assumptions of what you should do to prevent failure as much as you could, though failures and obstacles are spices to life, but if there’s a way to prevent this then prevent it.

Research in strict scientific definition is performing a methodical study in order to prove a hypothesis or answer a specific question. In life, while you are in the way of achieving your goals and molding your future, you must have a definite answer and like to pursue. There’s no turning back once you have step the first way to success, you must be able to prove to yourself that what you have choose is the best for you. You a need lots of courage and determination for you to go on. You as the one who will molding your future, you need to ask yourself what you like and think it over and over if thats what you really like.

Research must be SYSTEMATIC and follow a series of steps and a rigid standard protocol, from the word itself, “systematic”, our life and path to take are not constant, as what the old saying goes: : life is a constant change”. Every now and then you may encounter disagreements and discouragement but its up to you on how would you handle it, if you let outside factors intrude and destroy you then there no way out in pursuing whatever you have in your heart.

Research involves a very risky and critical way of decision making and for you to decide is you need a lot of time and meditation for you to be enlightened to what you may decide in the end.

Research involves TOPIC, and topic can be best describe as your objective in life, it will serve as your bases as you go along. It will serve as the pushing you to go on and we all know, choosing a topic in research is very hard, you must think and have some resources about it to fully understand what your topic should do and who will benefit to it. You need to brainstorm whatever is possible and know all the assignment requirements. In life perception, you goal must be achievable by you and it can give an encouragement to pursue.

Decisions you make will be the foundation of your future, since you were the one who decided it and everything will follow.

I may not say that research would the basis to whatever God has install me for the future but I know definitely it will affect me as a Computer Science Student. I think research will help me improve myself, my character and the way I handle every situation and even may change the way I think of the things that surrounds me. It will make me to be a better person and student. Research will open up my mind as to what I am taking right now, its hard (absolutely!) but I know its a part of growing up and taking your responsibilities as an individual, as a person and as a student.

What are your preferences on choosing file formats to use in certain applications?

Selecting the proper file format for your final artwork or project can mean the difference between having a usable document and a worthless collection of zeros and ones recorded to magnetic media. The file format should be determined by the image's final destination; for example, the Web has different requirements than do page layout programs. Even the Web design or page layout program you use can make a difference in what format to choose.

Within the broad categories of Web and print, additional choices need to be made. The file content will help you determine which format to choose.

their is no such thing as placing your own loved one. it depends on what you needed and I don't have any right to give my own idea because I don't know where to start. said, "The file format should be determined by the image's final destination; for example, the Web has different requirements than do page layout programs. Even the Web design or page layout program you use can make a difference in what format to choose."

what is your idea about standard-setting organizations and its relation to open standards?

So, as to what I have read and understand to the article that I have read, it states their that the distribution of standards which are created by developers of standards are of intellectual property (are legal property right over creations of the mind, both artistic and commercial, and the corresponding fields of law.) just like any other publications which are protected by copyright laws and international treaties. Except for those central governments who produces standards (public domain) which are not amenable to any copyright law.

Before SSO exists, their where lots of standards organizations existing but because of the fast evolution of technology existing standards organizations having hard times in dealing with it, that is why the SSO was created as new class of standard setters.

The scope of work of SSO: The developers of technical standards are generally concerned with interface standards, which detail how products interconnect with one another, and safety standards, which establish characteristics required for a product or process to be safe for the humans, animals and environment. The subject of their work can be narrow or broad.

So to the question, what is the relation of SSO to open source is that (based on my understanding) it is clearly connected since all open source of even propriety softwares needs standards inorder for it to fit to human need. I agree with what Mr. Mejares has said "They are only concerned about creating a "Standard". So in effect you could say that the SSO created the Universal Standard and both the proprietary sector and the "open" groups incorporate these "universal" standards into their products."

COMDDAP Event.

COMDDAP (Computer Manufacturer Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines) held victorious seminars, orientations, exhibits. Other manufacturers have given freebies for all who have attended the exhibit and or contribute in their activities. It was entertaining studying those technologies (manufacturers) nowadays that they have time to launch it and made a exhibit for 3days at Grand Ballroom, Apo Bayview Hotel, here at Davao City last July 2-4, 2009.

At first, I was thrilled to be at the said affair especially for Computer related courses. We will not just meet new acquaintances but we are able to know the latest inclination of technology. Credit to the COMDDAP for having we invited for their exhibits. Many schools have participated in the said event; we have the University of Mindanao, Ateneo de Davao, STI, USEP and many other schools that offer computer related courses.

The COMDDAP scheduled 4 orientations per day so that all students or guests who would like to attend will be accommodated since the area that they've rented for orientations is diminutive. I and my fellow colleagues were scheduled on Thursday (July 02, 2009) for the orientation. The scheduled orientations must be registered online on their site www.comddap.org since it has limited seats only. We are fortunate to avail one of their orientations.

I have attended the 2-4pm session and the speaker of the Jupiter was Mr. Celster Santos. He discusses about the Jupiter Systems Inc. The said company tackles about the ERIC DMS (Brilliant Dealer Management System). The DMS has general features of:

a.) Monitor Sales Executive Activities
b.) Sales lead monitoring from Initial Inquiry to Actual Close.
c.) Sales quotation processing
d.) Support sales of new & used vehicles
e.) Multiple pricing & discounting schemes
f.) Financing & Insurance transactions
g.) Vehicle Inventory
h.) Customer incident & resolution recording
i.) Interface to Manufacturer system
j.) Reports & Queries
k.) Highly Graphical technician assignments & loading window
l.) Customer appointments
m.) Repair orders & estimates
n.) Customer/Vehicle Service history
o.) Technician time-in/time-out
p.) Parts requisitioning
q.) Control parts & Consumable costs

This general feature of their system was discussed during our session at the four corners of the room. As we are opening the discussion, its kind of tiresome because all I thought was we are to discussed about vehicles and the likes but I was totally wrong, yes, we are to discussed about vehicles but vehicles here are just their examples, what they are trying to utter is about the system they are using for their business as dealers of cars. The system is so big, big enough to suffice a large group. What was good about the system is that it can be broken into parts that the customers wants to have. For example the company or establishment needed the customer's application only, the company need not to buy the entire system but the systems or applications they just needed.

Then the part 2 of the discussion was the HP and Nexus. They are about to introduce us about their product: the Thin Client. Thin Client or Lean provides the highest degree of knowledge and experienced in the design and delivery of advanced Server Based and Virtual Computing solutions. It’s a big help for our environment since it saves power, long term of life cycle, uses small space or u can just have it used at the back of your monitor, beside or under your computer table, is a low-cost, centrally-managed computer devoid of CD-ROM players, diskette drives, and expansion slots.

The term derives from the fact that small computers in networks tend to be clients and not servers. Since the idea is to limit the capabilities of these computers to only essential applications, they tend to be purchased and remain "thin" in terms of the client applications they include. As software as a service (SaaS) gains popularity, it is expected that thin clients and blade PC's will replace desktop PCs in many work and educational environments. In general, they are not as vulnerable to malware attacks, have a longer life cycle, use less power and are less expensive to purchase.
Thin client is also used to describe software applications that use the client-server model where the server performs all the processing.

Advantages of Thin Client:
• Lower IT administration costs.
• Easier to secure.
• Enhanced data security.
• Lower hardware costs.
• Less energy consumption.
• Easier hardware failure management.
• Worth less to most thieves.
• Operable in Hostile Environments.
• Less network bandwidth.
• More efficient use of computing resources.
• Simple hardware upgrade path.
• Lower noise.
• Less wasted hardware.

After the discussion with the HP & Nexus, the company held a Q & A portion, which we as listeners will be the one to answer to their questions. They've giving away 3 2GB & 1 8GB flash drives, 2 t-shirts with a print of their company's logo and name. Unfortunately, I was not called.
But with or without their freebies, that said event was good. Before I forget, the Registration (visitors, students) was powered by CHASE TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION.

After attending the 2 succeeding orientations, we then together with my friends take a look at some parties who joined the said event. We also have in our mind to have freebies coming from them... hehehe.... but unfortunately we only avail the "sandbox" freebies in exchange of registering our mobile numbers at their sites. hehehe... but it was fun...

That was the COMDDAP 3days event.

6 Signs That a Guy Likes You

You've met a nice guy and perhaps you have been dating awhile. You know you like him a lot, but you would like to now how he feels about you. What are the best signs that a guy likes you?

1. Eye contact. There are two kinds of eye contact. A guy can be to shy to have eye contact, so whenever you look hem in his eyes, he will quickly turn his head to avoid looking in your eyes. Another kind of eye contact is when he looks in to your eyes; he keeps looking a bit longer than one second. Both types of eye contact can be a sign that he likes you.

2. How does he behave around other women? Does he treat you the same as other women or do you get a 'special' treatment. If he doesn't treat you the same it could be a sign he likes you. Often when a guy likes you, he flirts with other women. He tries to make you jealous and hopes to get attentions from because of it. A nice trick is to go away, or go to the toilet, and ask a friend to look if he stops to flirt when you are no longer around.

3. Listen to what he is saying. Guys still think they have to prove their self. So when he is talking about his new car or his high paying job, he is trying to impress you.

4. See if he is showing interest in things you do or talk about. For instance, if this guy likes the same movies or the same book as you do, often that is a sign to show you how good the two of would fit together.

5. Touching. He touches you often. He puts his hand on you shoulder, when he is talking. When by accident your leg touches his, he will not move.

6. Study his body language. If he likes you, you may notice that he doesn't turn his back to you and often leans towards you.

The tips mentioned are some good signs that a guy likes you. But be careful do not rely on one sign only. See if there is more than one.

On the JOB Training [Summer 09]

Excited and Happy that finally I can have my OJT now. It was really fun applying yourself to various company and find an establishment that will accommodate us, though its very hot and you should wake up early or go to school every now and them to update your files and everything, it was really cool letting yourself experience be employed. I've used the word "US" because I'm with my friends and classmates.

So as we go along, me and my pal Nicole been in Sutherland, Concentrix, Davao Doctor's Hospital, Call Box, Blue Pearl, Abratique and Creative Response. We've been hired at Sutherland HR Dept., Blue Pearl and Creative Response but as we have compared the three (3), we are more comfortable spending our OJT at Creative Response since its a Graphics Design Company locating at 8th floor, LandCo Bldg. though we are very eager to find a company that would give us any kind of allowance (food or fare) that would free us from financial crisis... hehehe... but unfortunately theirs NONE...

April 20, our first day at Creative Response, we are all very excited to start our first day at CR... hehehe... together with Ronie, Nicole, Jade and the 3 mosquiters who from somewhere in the middle of our first day just came... wahahaha... namely: Thomas, Rossini and Simon... The company will open at 11:30am and will end at 10pm... a long hours to be open... hehehe... since we are OJT's, they allow us to be in at 1pm... so everyday we will consume 9hrs... it was boring and a tiring moment since you will spend 9 hours 5 days a week.... haiz... Since CR is a new branch here at Davao, they are still changes as we pursue... So, on May 12 our schedule has changed into morning shift and will be out at 7:30pm... We will in at 9:30am and end at 7:30pm.... that schedule last for a week and the following week becomes even more worse... since the management decided to group us by 3 and 4... there will be now a morning and afternoon shift... and our consumable time everyday would be 5 hours only.... It was a bad decision and yet we have nothing to do since we are just OJT's.... the problem here is how can our group will make it before our classes begin?... we know that is very impossible... so, we have nothing to say and do with but to feel free on what we are doing and end it in the exact number of hours.

Ou enrollment is fast approaching, it was scheduled on May 29 and June 1, 09... and we all know that USEP classes will begin on June 08, 2009.... and our OJT will probably end on the 3rd week of June... It was Sad but we know we can make it....

AJA!!!!... Fighting!!!....

Prototyping allows the users to try out a working model of a system before the actual system is complete. Explain how prototyping can be counterproductive if it creates task interference during training.

Prototyping is an activity during certain software development, it is the creation of prototypes, incomplete versions of the software program being developed. A prototype typically simulates only a few aspects of the features of the eventual program, and may be completely different from the eventual implementation.
The conventional purpose of a prototype is to allow users of the software to evaluate developers' proposals for the design of the eventual product by actually trying them out, rather than having to interpret and evaluate the design based on descriptions.
Prototyping has several reimbursements: The software designer and implementer can obtain response from the users early in the project. The client and the contractor can compare if the software completed matches the software specification, according to which the software program is built. It also allows the software engineer some imminent into the accuracy of preliminary project estimates and whether the deadlines and milestones proposed can be successfully met.
But even prototyping can have more advantages it is also and can produce counterproductive as you go along revising your prototypes because of some new idea that comes your way as you progresses in your project it can build counterproductive during the training task since you are editing it every now and then maybe you lack some polishing it before presenting it to others. It would be a big problem in your part since it interfere while you are there presenting it. Others may say that you make projects that are not efficient and liable. But because it was just a prototypes you can revised it anytime you want.

Activity5a_SE1

If one person has written a component but others have revised it, who is responsible if the component fails? What are the legal and ethical implications of reusing someone else's component?

Revising means checking a piece of writing for grammar and mechanics. This kind of checking is better called proofreading. True revising involves making much more substantial changes in a piece of writing. In altering one’s work will now matter if the person who revised it has all the acquiescence in doing it so and the owner knows what that persons (who will revised his/her work) thought in revising it.
In the first place, there are levels of revising ones work. First is at its most extreme, revising means discarding a draft and starting over. In this extreme of revising, the writer rethinks the writing, changing content as well as organization and style. At this level of revising, the writer is concerned with the basic content, the concepts and fundamental imagery of the writing. Second would be a less extreme form of revising means reorganizing the draft and adding or removing sections of it. Revising at this level, the writer seeks to clarify content and style and to make the writing more accessible to the reader. At this level of revising, the writer is concerned with the overall structure of the writing, making it express the basic concept of the writing. While the third level of revising is close to proofreading. At this level, the writer mainly checks sentence and paragraph style, not so much looking for errors as seeking clear and effective writing. At this level, the writer is largely concerned with the rhythm of the writing.
In this level of revising, the individual who will revise ones toil should be educated of how to revise ones effort to avoid failures. The one revising should also continue the main point of the unusual writer of a definite subject matter and not just messing around or messing ones exertion.
Reusing is the ability to use all or the greater part of the same programming code or system design in another application. With this definition alone in no doubt we can instill into our minds how to reprocess one’s toil. You can revise it or even reuse it but never engrave the main idea of the item or one component. You can convey it in your own idea but never snatch one’s idea in it.
The legal and ethical implications of reusing else’s component is first to have a authorization from the original writer of that article. If it’s an online article and can be edited then you should have all those necessities needed in doing it so before publishing it. Secondly, you as the person revising ones theme you should be legally responsible in what you are doing and tying to imply. Liability when it comes to your capacity, knowledge and resources. It is very essential to take on consideration these things to foil failures.

Question:
You have been hired by a computer consulting firm to develop an income tax calculation package for an accounting firm. You have designed a system according to the customer’s requirements and presented your design at a design review. Which of the following questions might be asked at the preliminary design review? At the critical design review? At both? Explain your answers.

a) What computer will it run on?
b) What will the input screens look like?
c) What reports will be produced?
d) How many concurrent users will there be?
e) Will you use a multiuser operating system?
f) What are the details of the depreciation algorithm?

The Preliminary Design Review (PDR) is a formal inspection of the high-level architectural design of an automated system and its software, which is conducted to achieve confidence that the design satisfies the functional and nonfunctional requirements and is in conformance with CMS' enterprise architecture. Overall project status, proposed technical solutions, evolving software products, and associated documentation are reviewed at a high level to determine completeness and consistency with CMS standards, to raise and resolve any technical and/or project-related issues, and to identify and mitigate project, technical, security, and/or business risks affecting continued detailed design and subsequent development, testing, implementation, and operations & maintenance activities. http://www.cms.hhs.gov/SystemLifecycleFramework/Downloads/PDR.pdf

From the above definition PDR must be conducted to ensure that the automated system or application being designed is in conformance with CMS' enterprise architecture and design standards. It involves scientific and technical objectives of the system. A detailed information and overall system design covering all aspects (electronic, mechanical, software) of the project or even the preliminary designs (block diagrams). For the instrument being used there should be a detailed interface specification between the hardware and software. Detailed budget and project plan and most of all major areas of risk and risk mitigation plans.

All the questions above are being discussed in the PDR stage because all the questions above involves reviewing the specific plans of the project, and should be conducted before any significant acquisitions or fabrication begins, and before any finalizations are produced. Budget and project plans should be refined and agreed to.

The question above implies are for the future implementation, it implies before the system should be design. Those questions are for PDR because it expresses before the fabrication of the system.

The CDR is generally intended to evaluate the proposed final designs, sometimes including constructed prototype modules or subsystems, but prior to commitment to final production. https://safe.nrao.edu/wiki/bin/view/GBT/ProjectReviews

As what I understand from above definition, CDR is for final polishing from the PDR stage of your system. It will just evaluate the proposed final designs. It will not touch those questions being tackled at the PDR stage. CDR is for ensuring if the system achieves the requirements being discussed during their PDR stage.

Question:
Among the many nonfunctional requirements that can be included in a specification are those related to safety and reliability. How can we demonstrate that these requirements are testable? How can we demonstrate the reliability of a system that is required never to fail?

Non-functional requirements are requirements that specify criteria that can be used to judge the operation of a system, rather than specific behaviors. This should be contrasted with functional requirements that specify specific behavior or functions. In general, functional requirements define what a system is supposed to do whereas non-functional requirements define how a system is supposed to be. Non-functional requirements are often called qualities of a system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-functional_requirement

From the definition above, Non-functional requirements are the most critical factor in the success of your project. Without including it in your specification, your system will not be reliable enough and not secured to use.

In the question of how can we demonstrate that these requirements are testable? Is the same way of answering of how we can demonstrate the reliability of the system? The answer is to fully document both the functional and non-functional requirements. Both play different rules but of the same weight, I guess, because without the presence of one of the requirements in your system, it will definitely not work. Maybe that’s the main reason why functional and non-functional are included in developing a system because both are important in the completion of a project.

The main factor to consider in doing it is to have a better understanding of the performance your system and the usability of your system. One needs to study and have knowledge in documenting these requirements because without any knowledge of how it should be gathered or start with is useless. One needs to have a better and deep understanding about it. How can one or your group test your system without having it studied furthered?

The reliability and safety of you system depend on who develop the system. Who gathers the data needed and who list the requirements of the system. The group must have a root analysis in everything they do. It’s very important especially when you want your system to be on its peak when it will be implemented.

Activity 3b_SE1

Developers work together with customers and users to define requirements and specify what the proposed system will do. If, once it is built, the system works according to the specification but harms someone physically or financially, who is responsible?

If in case it would happen, there is no need to blame someone in particular because in the first place it’s a group project and everyone is responsible with each other and you yourself must also know how to take good care of yourself. When the group was starting the project you knew that maybe in the long run, the group may encounter some problems or even accident. Prepare yourself for it. Accidents happen in no specific time, place or even season. So, everyone should be responsible and think that maybe if it would happen, the problem was in the group itself. Maybe the group lack something while doing the system or maybe forgot to set first safety precautions as the project was pursued.

While the group was doing the project, everybody doesn’t give any deep or advance study to what the outcome would be. Risk Analysis must be tackled here and should bare in mind to each member that it should be studied thoroughly (from Tangible and Non-Tangible Assets) and while the project is on the process of developing the group must set some Safety Precautions or Recommended Control to avoid some of the risk that the group may encounter, so that as the system will be implemented then the risk or any problems has enough remedy or get rid someone to be a victim of any unnecessary effect to their health, money, emotional or even physical.

In the long run, it’s a group project and each member is responsible of what they are doing and set in mind the safety of the group or individual before anything else. Everyone is responsible of what may the outcome be.

In the part of the customer, there are just imparting or lending what the group wants them to have. So customer here has nothing to do with the system because customer has no idea of what those codes are for. They are just expressing their desire to what they want the system should be and pays the necessary bills. The full responsibility of the situation is on the part of the group who accepted the project. They should know what they are doing and take some legal, right and deep study for any actions they would do.

Activity 3a_SE1

Question:
Many project managers plan their schedules based on the programmer productivity on past projects. This productivity is often measured in terms of a unit of size per unit of time. For example, an organization may produce 300 lines of code per day or 1200 application points per month. Is it appropriate to measure productivity in this way? Discuss the measurement of productivity in terms of the following issues:

• Different languages can produce different numbers of lines of code for implementation of the same design
• Productivity in lines of code cannot be measured until implementation begins.
• Programmers may structure code to meet productivity goals.

According to what I have read: http://www.kimbly.com/blog/000067.html , this was based on her experience that what matters most when you want a programmers productivity be good is that you must consider so many factors:

1.) First, the fewer developers in the group, the better.
2.) Second, distractions must be minimized.
3.) Third, history and familiarity with the code is very important.
4.) Fourth, management is important.
5.) Fifth, productivity has ceased to improve noticeably over time.

So, what mention above was the factors that a programmer should consider while producing lines of codes. There are only two kinds of programmers in the world: a poor programmer and a good one. But even if a programmer is good, the field of expertise varies. What if she/he is only good in one particular PL? What if she/he needs good environment to do it? A programmer’s productivity I think varies on:

1.) Environment
2.) Field of Expertise
3.) Programming Language being used
4.) Flexibility
5.) Accuracy and efficiency of the code

It is not necessary of who writes code more or less, what important is the accuracy and efficiency of the code and if he/she meets the goal of creating it.

I think we cannot measured once productivity in terms of code because lines of codes doesn’t speak of the programmers capabilities, what more important and should take into consideration is the efficiency and accuracy of the codes. Programmers has many ways on how to interpret into lines of codes certain problems, so what a programmers should have is to produce a good quality of codes in lay mans term, easy to debug and is concise.

Activity 2c_SE1

Even on your student projects, there are significant risks to your finishing your project time. Analyze the making of a student software development project and list the possible risks. What techniques can you use to mitigate each risk?

Risks are spices of life and since we are living, we will experience risk and we need to overcome it. Risks are part of a project to test the efficiency of the project. Below are the lists of risks that the group will encounter.

Project Risks:

1.) Tangible Assets:
a. Hardware = processor, monitors etc.
b. Data = data from developing the project
c. Documentations = back-ups
d. Supplies = materials needed
e. Software = data, applications. programs
f. Money = budget

2.) Additional Assets:
a. Infrastructure = where the project will lend
b. condition of the environment = calamities

Non-Tangible People Risks:
1.) Employee Turnover = quit leaving of a member
2.) Changing Requirements = late to realize something
3.) Attitudes = professionalism and unity

Mitigation:

Project Risks:

1.) Tangible Assets:
Hardware needs to fit the requirements needed for the project to avoid overloaded that may fail you pc’s hardware. Data needed must be in safe to avoid deleted, software must be kept well if in case it would be stolen or pirated, documents needs back-ups if incase it will be lost while in supplies and money it needs to have sufficient budget for the materials and for other purposes.

2.) Additional Assets:
It must also be included in order to the project to be implemented successfully. Secure the area where your group wants the project to reside.

3.) People Risk:
It talks more on the attitude towards the project and each member. The materials, budget and secured environment are useless if each member has misunderstanding and never work as a team. More risks are to be encounter.

All this tangible and non-tangible assets are to be considered since it is badly needed in the completion of the project. To mitigate this is to prevent those things to happen. Be responsible in all you do and think of possible ways to never overcome those things. Everyone should be prepared and think of the best project to make to not complicate things more.

activity 2b_SE1

Many studies indicate that two of the major reasons that a project is late are changing requirements and employee turnover. Discuss this projection and state real world scenarios.

Well, based on my experience especially group project at school (presently, I will not mention the subject), group project start at team building and set some rules, boundary and assigned task evenly and just. After which of creating a team, the team will decide of what project should be implemented. For those two activities alone, it will consume time and be deducted to the time allotted for them to do the project.
As the team agreed to pursue the project and start developing it (long journey starts), then the time come that the group will realize that they don’t want the project anymore and change to another one because maybe they are starting to face those complications which the group can’t solve or later realize that its not worth it and need some big revision (start all over again), perhaps the subject teacher don’t want it and decide that the group must change. So many reasons why members of the group suddenly change their project or change requirements to fully fit what the teacher wants and what are needed factors to consider external and internal.
In employee turnover it talks more to the member of the group. From the start, the group was made and members were there and fixed. Suddenly after the groups has been made and take the long journey, theirs a sudden twist of fate, a group member has to leave, quit or take into vacation (emergency purposes). So what will happen when the group lost a member or two, while in the first place they were a group who made and decide this project? So, it means that they will have only two options: to have another one or to still continue without the presence of the one member?
With these options, both needed a lot of time. Regarding to the first option, the group needs to recruit another member which they will have to orient since the person is new, while with the second option, no hard experience in finding one but surely well get even complicated since they’ve lost one member and the part or task of that member will be a big burden for them.

Activity 2a_SE1

Question:
Explain why it takes longer to develop a utility program than an application program and longer still to develop a system program.

Let’s first define what are a utility program and an application program. A utility program is a systems program designed to perform a specific task related to the operation of the computer when requested to do so by the computer user. An application program is an application program (sometimes shortened to application) is any program designed to perform a specific function directly for the user or, in some cases, for another application program.
From the definition above it is clearly stated what are their distinctions, to further understand it lets have some examples with utility program and application program, utility can either be used to complete a screen dump, format a disk, or convert the format of a data file so that it can be accessed by a different applications program. Application program examples are: word processors; database programs; Web browsers; development tools; drawing, paint, and image editing programs; and communication programs.
So from the statement above, utility takes longer development compare to an application program because application program was developed for a specific purpose or by request, it was designed to help people perform a certain type of work, while a utility program caters all factors needed by the user and an application program to work even the computer’s hardware and operating system. Utility performs maintenance or general-purpose chores.
The more complex and complicated the function of software is, the more it needs longer time to develop because it needs to be studied further and consider different factors and large scope.

Reflection (Proposal & Consultation)_Assign.6A[SAD1]

Regarding with our proposed system its kinda hard for the first place, because we have gone and wasted so much time just for our system to be approved by our Professor (really!) but actually as we go along we've realized that what are professor wants was something that could help our Institute or might as well our University. It took us so long to decide before we've come up to this idea. Our group proposed the Online USEP Academic Organization Updates which caters more on organizational issues. Our proposed system is somewhat could be compared to the BBS (Bulletin Board System) way back in 1990's. But we are happy that we have come up to this idea since our CCO (Campus Club Organization) have no official site. By this system, we could not only help them to save budget but also we could make CCO and other organizations under their provision, be organize. So far, we are now starting with our documentations.

So much for our proposed system, lets find out what are the emotions towards during our consultation (I'm starting to sweat) ... mmmm.... To start with, during our consultation to have approval for our proposed system it was a bad experience, since this is our first time to be with Dr. Gamboa (me and lizyl - my groupmate) and regarding with the group status during consultation its our first time to have a consultation with Dr. Gamboa. So you see, its so hard.. We really don't know where and when to start. We don't know his rules for consultation (very strict when it comes in disobeying his rules what more on consultation)... hehehehe... As we have our first consultation with him, we are so afraid (that even the AC at faculty room didn't have any effect on us, to think also that there are some faculty staying at their respective tables), but we have no choice but to have our consultation. At first, it was hard, Dr. Gamboa really wants idea (brilliant) coming from the group. He wants you to speak up and defend your system, he wants to know your standing. Its really a battle. Sad to say, our first proposed system was not approved by our Prof.(in a sense that it was a common system (jurasic) as what he describe it)... hehehe.. so we have to find another one and think again. Before our latest proposed system was approved by our Dr. Gamboa, we actually defended our first choice system which was Enrollment and Payroll System but Sir really wants something new that we think could help our department and the University as well, he wants us to think of another system that could satisfy and justify our selves and the course were into.

Presently, we have this new system that caters organizational issues and it was approved and accepted by our Professor. He likes it, he likes what he is seeing to us. We have grown up and we are at the Intellectual Stage (as what he said)...

Contradiction??_Act. No. 1b (SE)

Question:
Brooks says that adding people to a late project makes it even later (Brooks 1975). Some schedule estimation techniques seem to indicate that adding people to a project can shorten development time. Is this a contradiction? Why or why not?

Both statements are true, there is no contradiction at both parties because both are referring into a good result or techniques for everybody.

For me it’s not a contradiction to Brooks point of view because what Brook mean is a late project and late project is still late and can even result to be later if a team should add a person to it. There is nothing new or can change the status of a late project to an earlier one if we add new person. Adding a person means new adjustment and basically can never change the fact that the project is late. It’s definitely true that adding one will make it even more late because you need to orient the new person, as if the group should start at the very beginning. Its not appropriate if the team added a person and just let the person study the previous stages that the group undergone.

What was the second article mean is that in developing a project or starting a project would be a big help if the personnel who will develop it is many. The more the merrier, as what the old saying goes. It’s an expression of a project to be more effective if it has lots of idea or head that are working. Two heads is better than one, right? In most cases, developing a system would mostly preferred by group and it’s an advantage to a group who has a more personnel. Task could be divided evenly and just.

Buy a software package_Act. No.1a (SE)

Manny’s Manufacturing must decide whether to build or buy a software package to keep track of its inventory. Manny’s computer experts estimate that it will cost 325M dollars to buy the necessary programs. To build the programs in-house, programmers will cost 5,000 dollars each per month. What factors should Manny consider in making his decision? When is it better to build? To buy?

Well as far as I understand in Manny’s dilemma, it would be great if he will buy the software. Lets just say that it cost more compare to the program to be built in-house, but how long would it take completing the program??. Building an in-house program would consume a big span of time. In the end, buying or building it would be of equal amount I guess.

The only different of the two is that buying the software would mean lending so much money quickly but the advantage of it is that Manny would easily use the inventory system for his company. That would give Manny the assurance of his company’s items. While building the program in-house would cause him so much time waiting for it to be completed which would waste his time were in fact, the cost is the same.

In the business world, you need to be business minded person. You should also consider the benefits it would bring into your company in spite of the cost. Manny should not only consider the money but the persons who are working on his company. He should offer the best and most effective way for them to have a result that is worth satisfying.

Nowadays, as we observe in all aspect of life especially when it comes to business you should be competitive. Big business should have an edge in everything they are doing or producing. Why not Manny start it first inside his company? That would be a better idea.

Use Case Diagram of USEP Enrollment System [Assignment 4]

Figure: USEP Enrollment System Diagram

As you can see in this diagram (though its kinda tricky) but it only shows that creating a use case diagram is not that easy. SEE the details below to further understand it:

a.) Red Arrows/Lines is for the processes that a Student should take into consideration.
b.) Yellow Circles are for the arrangement of the process, what process should be taken first and so on..
c.) Blue represents here the role of the each actor(s) in the diagram.
d.) Pink/Violet lines is representing is connecting the yellow circles.

1.) Local Fees = includes the LC, Headlight and OCSC. The treasurer then issues a receipt after the enrollee pays his/her local fees.
2.) Advising = evaluation of grades and subjects which would be given by the adviser of each year level and after doing so issues a PRF and signed.
3.) Encoding here is to encode all the data that was approved by the adviser. The encoder issues a COR afterward.
4.) Cashier = where financial transactions esp. tuition fees are being paid. after paying his/her bill cashier now issues a receipt.
5.) Book keepers role here is optional for student, book keeper ony validates those students who have scholarships.
6.) Registrar= one who register a student that he/she is officially enrolled and has completed all the necessary processes required.
7.) Library= the librarian would be the one to validate the e-lib.
8.) and lastly, after passing all the following processes required the enrollee now is Officially Enrolled.
